BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

Genesis 12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. This scripture lets us know that God wants to and will bless us, not so we can be greedy and selfish but so that we can then be a blessing to others. But how often do we see our blessings this way? I know I don't often enough. But, God is so good and always giving us chances to learn and grow. Last night we recieved a very unexpected small financial blessing. I was so excited and right away had a small mental list of the things I could do with it. But God had other plans. About an hour after recieving this blessing we got a phone call of a family with a need and it would take all that we had recieved to meet this need. we were so excited to see God's hand move and that we could be a part of it. So we cheerfully met the need and felt even more blessed by the opportunity we had to do so. I think all to often we lose sight of the fact that the things we have on this earth from money to our homes and the food we eat aren't really ours. all things belong to the Lord and thankfully He will use people to get those things to the places they need to be if only we'll let go of our own greed and really listen for His small still voice and be obedient to His call. So let's all take some quite time each day and spend with the Lord and really try to listen for His voice so we can continue to be blessed to be a blessing! Have a great day in the Lord!
